Just a quick note to let you know that the Papillion store has reduced all remaining stock to 40% off!! There's still hundreds of beau-ti-ful bolts to choose from, so stop by soon and pick up a great deal!
Vintage Farm Girls …. your February blocks are now available at the West Center shop!! And, as promised (and on time), here's the photo of the newest four blocks ...
Aren't they sweet? Let's get those sewing machines humming!!
Now I know that not everybody who wanted to join us got a chance to sign up for our Vintage Farm Girl BOM. I just felt that 100 kits was all we could handle for one little old Block of the Month -- but, nope - I was wrong. We're doing really great with our kitting and all that goes with it!
Seewww, here's the BIG NEWS. If I can get 15 to 20 women who want to do the Farm Girl Vintage block of the month with us, we'll start a new round of blocks. Yea!!!
Now, those of you who read the blog are the first to hear this news. It'll take me awhile to get the news out to everybody who might want to join us, so I don't anticipate starting this program until around May -- but we'll see what happens.
If you are interested, give the West Center store a call at 402-333-6131. We'll take your name and phone number and let you know when we get enough people to join us!
It is with some sadness that I write to let you know that after 18 years, the Papillion Country Sampler is closing. We will be open for business as usual, on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of this week. We will be closed Thursday, February 11th through Sunday, February 14th, to get ready for our BIG going out of business sale beginning Monday, February 15th.
In some ways, it's kind of a merging together of the two Country Samplers. There are many things that we can transfer over to the West Center shop. Lots of the notions, some patterns and books, etc. But there's still thousands of things - including thousands of bolts of fabric - that we can't transfer and that will be on sale at 20% off, beginning next Monday. In addition, we've got some fixtures and some antique display pieces that will be on sale for a flat fee.
We have two months before we need to have everything out of the building, so we're just going to put things on sale (on an expanding percentage scale) until everything is gone.
We hope to see you there for some really great deals on lots of wonderful quiltin' goodies!!
I promised all our Farm Girl Vintage BOM gals I'd blog a picture of our first four blocks for January - it's always nice to have a colored picture to refer to and although I'm a little behind in posting - I'll do better next month.
Seewww, here it is, girls …. the first four ….
Don't forget to save your left over scraps to make the little corner squares!
Well, I think the weatherman may knew what he's talking about this time. They're predicting 8" to 12" of blowing snow for Tuesday here in Omaha ... so if nothing changes, Country Sampler 1 and 2 will be closed tomorrow. We'll try and dig out on Wednesday, but I'm not promising anything yet!
Hopefully, you've got plenty of stitching goodies on hand and you're ready for a cozy day of quilting!
This is a great day to remind you about the second annual Metro Area Flurry Frenzy. It's steadily snowing today and it's suppose to snow pretty much all day here in the heartland!! Seewww, button up your overcoat and get ready for ....

I want to wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous new year. Thank you all for your support in 2015! The concern I have heard over and over again in recent months is that of quilt shops closing. The concern is real for all shops. The internet has not made it easy for any retail business. I know as avid sewers and quilters you hate to see this happen. There is nothing like seeing the fabric and "petting" it, to be able to grab something in a hurry, get some advice or help with our projects or enjoy sitting in a class, and sewing with others who love our craft. That's something that you can't find online. We love being here for you. A fellow quilt shop owner shared something with me last month that I think is worth passing along. It's entitled......
Just one spool of thread.....
If everyone that opens this e-mail stops in once a month and buys just one spool of thread we can pay our employees and rent. If you add just 1 yard of fabric to that each month we stay in business. This didn't seem like much to me and I was skeptical so I sat down and did the math. It's true! Even the small purchases help your local shops thrive. We, your local shops can't do it without you.
So the moral of the story is this....when your shopping around for your project supplies please remember us, Country Sampler One and Two. We so appreciate your patronage. Here's to a great year of quilting!
Just a liddle update on our Farm Girl Vintage BOM! We've been cutting like crazy for our first installment in January ...
If you haven't signed up yet, we only have a couple of opening left. Then, we're done… finished … no more add ons. It's a awesome block of the month, but there's A TON of prep work on our end, so once we get to 100 sign ups, we're not recutting.
Also, if you're doing the BOM with us … be sure you've signed up for one of our two "parties" designed to give you lots of great tips and tricks to make these adorable little blocks. Honestly, Edith, we've got seeww much to tell you!! Hey, we've even got a few door prizes for ya too!
And …. if you're already signed up, be sure and bring your book to the party. It'll just make it a little easier to follow along. See you there! Can't wait!
