Ann and I just got back from Quilt Market and as always, it was a whirlwind of fabric, new notions, patterns, block of the months, wool, new patterns and books. We saw everything and bought our share (and probably somebody else's share - ha!). I'll share the new stuff with you in upcoming blog posts... but I've some BIG news to share with now!!
Look what I got to come home to!!
Yup, it's my first grandbaby - born the last day of Quilt Market, October 28th, 2013. A baby girl, a healthy 9 lbs. - 7 oz.! Of the two of us, I look the worse for the wear!
My daugher in law went into labor the night before so, of course, I spent the night checking my phone for text updates, then got up early to pack and check our luggage, then walked the market floor all day, flew back to Omaha, then drove directly to the hospital from the airport to see our new bundle of joy!
Isn't she beautiful?? Okay, I may be a little "Grandma biased", but she really is beautiful. Lots of dark, curly hair too - love that! I think they're going to name her today and it sounds like Charlotte Anne is the winner.
Sooo, now the tough part begins. Who am I? Should she call me grandma? But everybody calls my mom "grandma" - will that be confusing to her?? Am I "momo", "nana", "grammy?? Granted, I've only seen her open her eyes once and mostly she's been content with sleeping and eating, but I gotta be thinking ahead! This grandma thing can be kind of complicated, huh?
