Remember I showed you this picture a couple of weeks ago???
It was the beginning of my Mondo Bag, from Quilt Smart. Ann and I saw tons of gals at Quilt Market with these totes, so ... of course, I had to make one too.
I've never used a Quilt Smart product before - that's where you use a fusible interfacing as the base - but I was pleasantly surprised how easy it went together and all the intersections matched perfectly!
Soooo, TA-DA ... here's my finished bag!!
I don't know if you can tell by the pictures, but it's a BIG, roomy bag - 17" tall, with a 10" square bottom. I think I could fit all my rug hooking supplies and the rug, in this big boy!! The fusiable interfacing and fusiable fleece make it really sturdy too!
Now, I know it's no Eldon (The gorgeous quilt from my previous post.), but I can think of tons of ways to use this "mondo big" bag. Look at how much room is in this tote!! Wouldn't it make a great diaper bag too??!
We're going to kit it up, since it uses 15 different 2 1/2" strips - but it would be great from a jelly roll too. Hey, maybe you could just cut up a bunch of 2 1/2" scraps from that ever-expanding stash of yours -- the possiblities are endless!
