Yup folks, I've declared this National Change Your Needle Day - a one women push to remind you that your sewing machine needle doesn't last forever.
How do I know this?? Well, yesterday I'm sewing away, just having a gay old time, and I notice that the bottom thread on my seams are kinda wonky. Hmmm... I say. I just had this baby in for maintenance. Is it the tension?? (Man, I hope not. I hate fiddling with the tension. It always reminds my of my junior high home ec. teacher yelling at us to NEVER, EVER touch the tension!!)
Seewww, I say to myself, when was the last time you changed the needle?? My theory is - if you can't remember the last time you changed it out (and I couldn't), ya probably need a new one. And low and behold, after swapping out the old needle, "Bernie" sewed like a charm.
Oh, and I've got a GREAT quilt for you today. This one is on display at both the Papillion shop and the West Center store ....
Isn't it great?? It's called Box of Stars, by A Quilter's Dream - 63" x 75". We did ours with luscious batiks, in colors of blue and gray... so cool! And we kitted it too! Just $108.95 for the top and binding fabric, plus the cost of the pattern. I just love it!!
