Country Sampler Quilts

It's Time....

Ann and I are on our way to Quilt Market today.  I've made my lists....

You know those lists - the ones you make when you're going on a trip. Things like:  camera, pjs (Ann forgot those once and I've never let her forget it!), medicine (ya know how it is when you're over 50), comfy shoes, airline tickets, etc.

I THINK I have everything, but since that's never happened before - I'm sure I'll find I forgot to pack something - big sigh.

During Quilt Market we have LOTS of appointments with fabric reps.  I wanted to share this really cool handmade reminder card from our wonderful Moda rep., Cheryl Cantoya....

Isn't it cool??  That's a real zipper she added to the card.  Now, I've done a little scrapbooking, but this makes my feeble attempts look..... well, reeaalllly feeble.

I'm going to try real hard to take some pictures while I'm at market to share with you.  And, as alway, we'll have some new, really fun stuff from market when we get back.  Stay tuned!

Rug Hooking Garage Sale....

I just wanted to remind everybody that this Friday and Saturday, October 28th and 29th, is the Rug Hooking Garage Sale at the West Center Store! The gals will be in the classroom, with tons of wool hooking supplies for sale ...things like patterns, books, lots of wools, magazines, and more!  Hey, even if you're not a "hooker", you'll want to take advantage of the great sale on wool!  Wool is verrrry popular these days - think wool mug mats, wool table runners, wool table mats, and more!

They'll be demoing rug hooking too, so if you've ever had any questions or just an interest in this old art form - you should stop by and ask 'em some questions!  AND, they'll be raffling off this lovely little rug....

Just a $1.00 a ticket .... wouldn't this sweetie look great in your house??  So, stop by and check it out!!

 

 

 

 

Have you seen?.....

There's a new magazine in the quilt shops and if you haven't picked up your copy yet, you need to stop by your old buddies at Country Sampler and pick up a copy before they're gone!  

 

As quilters, we're always lamenting the fact that we have waaay too much stash and waaay too many scraps - I'm with you there, Edith.  It's a big sisterhood of quilters with little bits of this or that orphan fabric.  What could be better than a magazine than can help you turn all those scraps into gor-ge-ous quilts and table toppers??!

20 Years!!

Did you know this is our birthday month???  Yup, Country Sampler is 20!! Yeah!! 

And... just in case you've been living under a rock (or haven't seen our fall newsletter), I thought I'd better clue you in to a couple of special things we've got going.

First, each week we're taking 20% off a group of fabric.  This week (including today) we've been giving 20% off all red and green cut fabric - think Christmas here, Edith.   Next week, starting this Sunday, we've giving 20% off all black and blue fabric on the bolt - great staples for any stash!

Put that's not all!  At each store we've got a great quilter's basket on display - here's the West Center basket....

full of over $300.00 of quilter's goodies!  Everytime you come in one of the shops during the month of October, be sure and put your name in the bowl to win one of these babies!  We'll be drawing the first week of November, so register often!

 

Sorry....

It's been a long time since I've posted ... sorry.  Since the last time I wrote I've been to Florida, NYC, I've had the flu for a week, hosted eleven buses for a huge bus shop hop, and in general, just tried to catch my breath and catch up!  I'm hoping October will be a little less hectic then September, but I doubt it ... my calendar seems to be filling up quickly.  The worst part is I haven't been able to quilt AT ALL!  Bummer!

I'm sure you know this guy...

He's hear to remind you that this Wednesday (October 5th) is our Mystery Quilt Party!  Yup, if you've got your Mystery Quilt finished, we want to see you there - 6:30 at the West Center store.  And remember, you don't have to have it quilted and bound to come ... as long as the quilt top is finished you're good to go.  

But you need to call the West Center store (402-333-6131) and let us know you're coming.  We want to make sure we have plenty of treats and goodie bags for all you Mystery Quilters!

ALSO, the fall newsletter is on our website now... just go to www.countrysampleronline.com and click on the newsletter link on the left hand side, and take a look.  The paper newsletter will be mailing out today and we'll have them out on the counter in a day or two.   You'll want to check it out 'cause we've got fabric on sale this week!!  Yeah!
