On Thursday, Carol, Laura, and I set up the Country Sampler booth at the Omaha Quilt Guild Show at the LaVista Convention Center. It's always a lot of work, but things went pretty smoothly - although we did have to make a Scooters run (ya gotta have a little energy drink to keep going), as well as two additional trips to the Papillion store for more goodies for the booth.
After we got everything hauled in - it's time to arrange the tables and then start putting up the background quilts. Carol's our designated table walker and quilt hanger!
We focused on one side with lots of batik projects including Sandy Ackerman's latest project, Spool Quilt, from the Friendship Strips & Scraps book by Edyta Sitar. Isn't it stunning?? And this is a horrible, washed out picture of it - it's sooo much better in person.
We also brought our silk quilts in reds, blues, and one in greens - as well as our smaller version of the Farmhouse Quilt also from Edyta's book (we LOVE this book --- can you tell??).
Now I know these pictures look really "busy", but the whole purpose of vending at a quilt show is to have LOTS of needful things for the attendees and less about the "art of arranging"!
Then we did our back wall in some of our BOMs going on this year...
Of course, that included bringing our Country Sampler Quilt Club models and information hand outs; plus the quilt and lots of goodies to sign up for our second round of The Farmer's Wife BOM starting in July; and, a sneak peek at our upcoming Farm Fresh BOM from those crazy gals at the Buggy Barn (more information on this soon).
We also had our wool Merry Christmas quilt on display - we only have a few openings left for this one-of-a-kind quilt - so if you're interested, ya better sign up soon.
After that, we kinda morphed into country and, of course, patriotic quilts for the season....
Lots of little quilts and kits too...
Sharon made us this daring fabric and wool table topper from Primitive Gatherings....
We also brought this little beauty, also from Primitive Gatherings, called (I think) Itty Bitty Pinwheels...
And, Debbie made us these sweet pincushions, from the Summer Gatherings book...
Seeeee, you don't always have to spend a lot of money at a quilt show (though you REALLY should!) to get some really fun stuff.
Oh and lastly, we put up two tables with tons of fat quarters at a great price. This picture is during set up. You can see Laura trying to straighten 'em up a liddle bit, but also take a look at the OQG "posse" in the back setting up the quilts - HUGE job.
I've got a few more pictures from the show, but I'm going to wait on those. I'll try and post soon tho.
Lastly, I want to remind you that this is the last day for the quilt show - no Sunday this year. Soooo... make sure you come out and see the quilts TODAY - they've got some great ones (not to mention some pretty darn good vendors too :)
