I'm pooped! Ann and I just got back from Fall Quilt Market last night. Just like everyone, we hit the ground running and didn't stop for four days. I'm hoping to get some pictures on the blog in a couple of days, once I get back in the flow of things. For now, I'm just playing the "catch up" game - but I did want to get some more comments posted from you guys.
As you probably know, we're having a little "blog give-a-way" here at Country Sampler and some lucky reader is going to receive this adorable kit and pattern just by dropping me a few lines about their favorite thing about fall. Maybe it's a memory from your childhood, maybe it's a autumn tradition, or maybe it's a funny story about the kids. AND... if you send me a photo of some fall/Halloween decorating you've done, you'll get double points in the drawing! Yeah!
So... from JenB, I received this comment...
Fall is my favorite time of year! The cooler weather, leaves turning, and crisp air in the mornings are a welcome break from the Nebraska summer heat. Growing up on a farm, fall means harvest. Many of my childhood memories are riding with my Dad in the combine or the semi. I am happy my daughters are now making those same memories with their Poppa!
And from Sandy...
It's always fun to get out the fall quilts and table runners. The cooler weather makes it fun to bundle them around the house where you may need to grab one to stay warm.
And from Michelle....
I love this time of year because I LOVE Halloween. My best memory is of the costumes my Mom made for my brother and I. I hope to continue this tradition in my own house. I started a Halloween wall hanging, but of course, didn't get it done on time (the story of my quilting life). I confess, the only "decorating" I've done is sewing my daughter's costume. I'm sure she is the cutest Monarch you'll ever see. Enjoying the blog!
Thank you, thank you to everyone who has sent me a comment so far... I really enjoy hearing from you! You make me smile. I still have a few more to post and if you haven't entered yet... you have until November 6th to get me a picture or note and get your name in the drawing!
