I never got a chance to post some pictures from the Country Sampler retreat this month. Sooo now that I have a few minutes, I thought I'd post a few pics from the week end for those of you who couldn't join us!
We had a "arachnophobia" theme for our October retreat at Camp Carol Joy Holling. You'll see why in a minute! These were the greeters... aka.. door signs, sitting outside everyone's door as they found their room. Aren't they great??! ( I know... a little creepy too, huh?)
So why the spiders?? This was our Saturday afternoon optional sewing project.... It's Spidey!!
Isn't he cute? Who knew a spider could be so cute?? We had patterns and kits available and it was a big hit with the girls! Wouldn't this guy look great on your Halloween table? Dawn made a couple for her grandkids and they have them on their beds - fun, huh? The body is a quilt as you go technique, so it goes really quickly, and the legs are grosgrain ribbon. (And, yes, Edith, I've got 'em on the website - although for some reason beyond my limited computer techno ability, I can't upload the above picture yet.) Big Sigh... I'll work on it, though... Heck, I don't have anything else to do for the next 72 hours.

Gee Deb, maybe you were at Camp Joy Holling but I was at Calvin Crest! And the spiders were adorable. We had a great time and sewed our little hearts out.
