Yup, I've started writing the fall/winter newsletter. I always try to start with the classes, since those tend to change about 100 times before the newsletter is printed!
Then, I make a list of all the things that I need to talk about including block of the months, events, new books and patterns, and the various odds and ends that go along with a quilt shop. I always forget something... but the list gives me a sense of direction at least.
Since I was working on the club and BOM section, I though I'd give ya a sneak peek of one of our new BOMs coming in January 2011 - Civil War Chronicles by Homestead Hearth and Marcus Brothers.
Of course, this a computer generated picture - and not a great one - but you get the idea. I'm really excited about this quilt - I think it's gonna be a beauty! The quilt blocks are going to tell the stories of twelve women who encountered their own struggles on the homefront while their husbands were way.
So, just to tempt ya a "lidde" bit... below are a few snapshots of the fabric....
Several of us in the shop, like this quilt even better than the first one. I did hear it's the second in a series of three, too. We should be getting our shop packs in September, so we'll be stitching soon and we'll have a model up as soon as we can.
Until then, we'll be taking BOM sign ups starting in September - so finish up those 2010 UFOs, Edith, and get ready for Civil War Chronicles 2011!
