Tidings...

It's been awhile since I've written anything here on the blog - it's not that I haven't been busy, it's that I've been TOO busy!  June was crazy with both the Omaha Quilt Show and our annual Porch Sale in just a two week period.  Plus, I finally got the summer newsletter finished and it's in the shops and on the web at our website (www.countrysampleronline.com).  

THEN, if that wasn't enough... I took a short visit to San Diego for four days.  It was a VERY interesting trip.  On the way out, we had a layover in Denver that stretched to seven hours because of storms, so we didn't get into SD until 4:00 AM.  We experienced our first earthquake (yikes!) on the fourteenth floor of our hotel... AND, on the return trip we ended up stuck in Dallas overnight at the Super 8 Motel at midnight.  Since we we were stuck anyway, I wanted to take a later flight the next day and visit the Moda warehouse for a little (or a lot) of fabric shopping!  I whined, I pleaded, I made promises I'd never keep ... but DH informed me I had enough fabric, "Had I looked at my balance statement lately??".  Kill joy.  Moral of the story - Never get stuck overnight in Dallas with your husband... Ann's a LOT more fun.  Big sigh. 

Sooo, since there's no rest for the weary (I'm looking for a little sympathy here, Edith) this week we're gearing up for Christmas In July this Saturday, July 17th!   Yup, the little Country Sampler elves have been stitching their little fingers to the bone and turning the store into a Christmas and autumn wonderland!   If ya don't know, this is when we bring out all the new Christmas, snowman, fall, and Halloween fabric; along with new samples and new kits - it's sooo fun and a chance to get you inspired for all that holiday stitching you're going to need to do!

BUT... to get ready for this extravaganza - both stores will be closed tomorrow (Friday, for those of you who have lost track of the days - kinda like me!)  We use to try and decorate around customers and cutting fabric, but we're older and wiser now!  So don't come see us on Friday, come see us on Saturday when we'll be looking our best!

Of course, I can't show you the new stuff yet 'cause it's a surprise... but I can tell you that we've just received Art to Heart's new book, Tidings, it's out in the shops, and you're gonna love it, Edith!
