I wanted to get a couple more pictures off to you that really illustrates the ability of many quilters to take a pattern or book and make it their own with just a little creativity in their choice of fabric. Let me show you what I mean!
Here's a pic of Patchwork Garden, a pattern booklet from Jan Patek. It's not a new, new pattern; so it's not one I carry in the shop - but one that I can still order. I love it (I'm really attracted to quilts that have both piecing and applique together) and I have a pattern of this beauty in my "someday" basket.
So.... flash back about 6 months ago and I'm wandering around the APQ show in Des Moines with some friends and I see this quilt.... and WOW!
Isn't it wonderful!! Once again I didn't get the gal's name who name it - but she's a genius - and look at the ribbons!! Here's a few more pics.
The quilt is mainly made from Kaffe fabrics, but the other thing I really love about this quilt is that the quilt maker added other cottons outside of the Kaffe line, including batiks!
Lori Lang and I are talking about starting a quilt similar to this, wouldn't that be fun?
Boy, if this doesn't get your creative juices flowing, I don't know what will!
