Creativity....

I wanted to showcase a couple of quilts this week where the quilt maker used her own individuality and creativity to reinterpret a pattern. ( Man, that was a LOT of BIG words for me to spell - thank goodness for spell check, huh? )  

So look at this first picture.   This is a Schnibbles pattern from Miss Rosie's Quilt Co., called Madeline.  The quilt on the cover of the pattern and the one we made for the shop, is from the Rouenneries line of fabric by Moda and French General.   Of course, in just a few weeks after we made the model we were out of fabric and so was Moda.   Big sigh.

  
 This is a continuing problem for shop owners... it's not just us.  So while I was surfing the web the other day (sorry, I'm not sure of all the sites) and I found some great pictures of quilts made from Carrie's pattern, but with different fabric.  Take a look!

I'm pretty sure this is a Moda fabric in the stores now, called Wiscasset.  Neat, huh?

Hmmm.... looks like a Sandy Gervais Valentine line, doesn't it??

I thought these were all good examples of thinking a little outside the box... You don't have to have the exact fabric as the cover picture of the pattern or the model from the quilt shop.  I know it's hard at first, but it does get easier!

It is so much fun to see how the same quilt pattern can have such different results! Good job finding all those examples.
