Ahhhh... finally. Some of the photos I promised you from the Country Sampler retreat in November! We always have a great time at retreat... lots of laughing, eating, sewing, and fun; and I think this might have been our largest retreat ever. First though, I want to show you what I found in Ann and my room on Saturday night!
Yup, Sponge Bob decked out for Christmas! He doesn't look too scary here, but think of a very dark room with a faint glow coming from somewhere inside and the weird sound of a blower (or something) in the dark! Janet K. (and a few of her cohorts in crime!)had inflated it and put it on Ann's bed during dinner and it about scared the dickens out of both of us when we entered.
We always do a Country Sampler show and tell on Friday night where we show all the new quilts and kits in the stores. We had lots to show the gals this time, unfortuately I didn't get any pictures of the quilts but I'm going to try and get some good pics soon. Then on Saturday night, the gals have their own show and tell where they show what they've been working on at retreat or what they have recently finished. It's always AMAZING to see everybody's work and I thought it might be inspiring for you too... so here's just a few of the photos from retreat!
This first one is Jody showing off her "Snap Bags" that we made during the Saturday afternoon project. Aren't they cute??!! Fast and easy too, Edith... you could easily get some of these done before Christmas for a special gift. (The pattern is on the Country Sampler website too , just in case you can't stop by the stores .... www.countrysampleronline.com .) They "snap" together using carpenter's tape measure and Ann tought everybody how to construct 'em and we had cute little kits put together for everybody who wanted to make one.
Janet with her snowman quilt from a kit we had a year or so ago. And below, she's got a finished Miss Rosie's quilt (can't remember the name of the pattern off the top of my head, but I know we have it got the in the shops!).
I'm not sure who this is with only her eyes showing, but this is a CrabApple Hill pattern -and we've got the pattern and kits for this too! Yeah! Isn't gorgeous!
Below is Ann and Nan with their quilts. (They're almost always together so we just know them as "AnnandNan"... kinda like one big long word!)
Here's Linda (she works at the Papillion store) with her bee-ti-ful from the new Primitive Gatherings book, Autumn Gatherings. It's called, "Forest Floor" and the Papillion store has kits for this beauty at just $89.98. You should get one, Edith, it's soooo you!
Tami and her daughter were working on this batik beauty below. I THINK it's going to be her daughter's quilt and I THINK it's from the Happy Hour book, by Atkinson's Designs.
This little Christmas tree wall hanging is from a paper piecing pattern that Dawn tought this semester. Isn't it sweet?
Well, that's a good start on some of the 'ole photos from the retreat archives. I'll post some more later tonight or tomorrow... right now I better get into work before I lose my job at the Sampler!
